The 2009-2010 influenza season has begun. The 2008-2009 weekly reports are now here. Past seasons' reports can be found here. All counts have been reset to zero.

Flu activity for week 29 is "LOCAL".

Influenza Activity for Week 27 - WIDESPREAD

Influenza activity for Maryland was "widespread". This refers to the geographic spread of influenza. Four out of the five regions in Maryland reported either increased proportions of visits to providers for influenza-like illness (ILI) or outbreaks of influenza in institutional settings.

Week 23 Activity - "LOCAL"

One region, the Southern Region, reported an increased proportion of visits to sentinel providers for influenza-like illness. Another region, the Baltimore Metro Region, reported one. The outbreak was reported in an institutional setting. As a result of these reports, Maryland's flu activity for week 23 (June 7 to June 13) is "LOCAL".
