The Division of Outbreak Investigation works with Local Health Departments and the Centers for Disease Control in responding to outbreaks or clusters of disease. With regards to influenza, the division responds to reports of outbreaks or clusters of influenza-like illness (ILI) or influenza in institutions (schools, hospitals, long-term care facilities, etc.).
