Influenza Sentinel Providers gather and report information on the number of visits for influenza-like illness (ILI) that they see at their practice settings. Sentinel providers can be physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and college/university student health provider. Over 2,400 providers in the United States currently report their data to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
